The Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is mourning the loss of Mrs. Jedida Kalat Shamang. Although the burial arrangement indicates she died January 18th, 2026, it seems her ex-colleagues and the wider public are just getting the sad news.
A bio brief made available to Intervention showed that she served in several Nigerian missions, amongst them Geneva and The Hague. She hails from Kaura LGA of Kaduna State.
In the late 1990s, she was a sensation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in terms of calm and graceful carriage that was obviously not learnt from any Finishing School but inherited from communal roots. She was not a show girl but she had symbolism in her presence.
It is not clear what killed Mrs Shamang who would have been 60 by December later this year.
