Many thanks to all yee who have complained or expressed worry that no new postings have appeared on Intervention in the past few weeks. May we, however, categorically inform that the platform is very much here to stay. Nothing has happened to change that.
An imagined holiday simply snowballed into a prolonged one which found purchase on the ground of eight years of no holidays, no rest or any such ‘luxury’. Even nature approved of the prolonged holiday on that count. Many other platforms observe a yearly break of up to two weeks.
This holidays has, however, come at the expense of materials already received and accepted for publication and for which we apologise to those who sent them. Here is a guarantee of compensation when we return. Even while the holiday lasts, there will occasional Intervention!
It cannot be otherwise at a time of incredible misery across the world in general and in Nigeria in particular, a time when Intervention must partake in the politics of remaking a nation. It has to not only to record the most horrible dimensions of a large scale social collapse of Nigeria today but also to put the stress on the discursive power solution. It is the cheapest but unfailing weapon for recovery of society through the frame game when properly organised.
Meanwhile, the Intervention platform remains open for readers, researchers and other text users who are advised to make the best use of the break to catch up. Thank you All and looking forward to the re-engagement!
