It is one thing for a top supermarket such as Abuja’s Next but it is another thing that while the supermarket burns, some people enacted a looting orgy. Could that be moral collapse in the society, a response to alienation, militant urbanism or incurable temptation to looting? In other words, why did some Nigerians find Next supermarket a site for looting as the shop was burning?
Is that what would have happened if a huge shop were to be on fire in Addis Ababa, Cairo or Pretoria, the three other African powerhouses?
Is it not a question Nigeria must answer as part of the process of rebuilding the country?
