The leadership of Organization of Trade Union of West Africa (OTUWA) is standing shoulder to shoulder with American workers who have been negatively affected by the current US administration’s executive orders and the activities of a billionaire-led DOGE. Comrade John Odah, OTUWA Executive Secretary said in a statement of solidarity to the AFL-CIO declared its unwavering support for all such actual and potential victims.

“We viewed this frightening trend of events as calculated attacks on the collective labour rights and dignity of working people in the US and a threat to the hard-earned victories of workers’ struggles in the US and the world at large”, the statement issued in Abuja maintained.
Restating its solidarity with “you and millions of American workers at risk of unfair labour practices and abuses”, the OTUWA statement said they had, as workers, always risen above adversity and built solidarities that support each other in moments like this.
Odah is sure that in the togetherness of workers lies their capacity to fight to protect the labour and civil rights of all workers in every corner of the world!
