Someone, somewhere is asking President Muhammadu Buhari to investigate the death of Brigadier-General Audu Ogbole James. That is to suggest that the storyline of the General being crushed to death by a drunken soldier-driver might be nothing other than someone’s narrative. Uhm!
Whether it was an accident or an “accident”, the paradox here is so striking. An expert in the management of violence or war suffers death in a most peaceful environment and time and from the most unlikely threat – a soldier-driver
It is so sad, both for the family and the Nigerian military. It is costly to produce a General. To lose one to such an accident makes it sadder!

Not that this is the case, but we Black people have a problem with rule of law.
In institutions such as the military, someone higher up in the hierarchy might feel he is god unto subordinates, and must be treated as such.
On the other hand, a subordinate might refuse to be bound by the disciplinary actions stemming from his misconduct. Add to the mix the explosive character of certain inputs: religion and ethnicity. The outcome can be this ‘hit-and-stay’, or shoot and celebrate as was the case of one who shot his immediate superior.
Seems to me our genes are yet to absorb White man’s norms.
