Racy Nigerian online platform, News Express, took the social media segment of the industry to greater heights today with its 6th Anniversary Lecture & Economic Stakeholders Forum held at the main hall of Sheraton Hotel & Towers, Ikeja in Lagos, Nigeria. Beyond the galaxy of distinguished personalities and representatives of key private and public sector organisations who attended the occasion is the issue put on the table for critical scrutiny: Transparency – Bedrock of Sustainable Development”
The event which was also be used to unveil the all-gloss periodical magazine, News Express Special Print Edition fits into what Mr. Isaac Umunna, the publisher of News Express, says of it as “an annual programme that has an established trend of bringing together important business and political leaders from across the country, as well as multifarious professionals and influential media stakeholders”. He could equally have added that it is an annual festival in which professional, intellectual, commercial and social sides to the business co-habit in one outing.
Even as he was not able to attend the occasion eventually, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s Vice Presidential Candidate for the 2019 elections, Mr. Peter Obi, telephoned the publisher the previous day to explain his entanglement with the presidential campaigns which commenced only two days earlier. Different shades of the elite billed for the occasion were top Nollywood stars, the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas Ejezie; international music icon and business tycoon, Dr Tee Mac Omatshola Iseli (MFR); Controller of Prisons, Lagos State Command, Mr Tunde Ladipo; and a Director of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Mrs. Helen Onma Odeleye. Others were the Chairman of the occasion, Chief Goddy Uwazuruike, eminent lawyer and President Emeritus of Aka Ikenga think tank, while four eminent Nigerians delivered speeches on the Lecture theme.
