The D-Day is September 25th, 2025. That is the day a Festschrift of over 500 pages in honour of Professor Tunde Adeniran will be unveiled.
Edited by Prof Gani Yoroms and Mr Femi Melefa, the book event (a colloquium and book presentation) will take place at the sprawling International Conference Centre at the University of Ibadan.
The Festschrift features among many others such names as Prof Adigun Agbaje, Prof Bayo Olukoshi, Prof Julius Ihonbvere, Prof Isaac Albert, Prof Bola Akinterinwa, Prof Tunji Olaopa, Dr Kayode Fayemi, Dr Aderemi Ajibewa, Dr. Ekwere Kingsley, Stoffer Howard.
It seems safe to speculate that Sept 25th, 2025 will be a gathering of multiple spheres: the Adeniran generation of Nigerian political scientists most of whom are in their eighties now, UI academics generally and current set of political scientists, diplomats as Adeniran was a one-time ambassador of Nigerian to Germany, technocrats over whom Adeniran presided as Nigeria’s Education minister under the Obasanjo regime and, of course, politicians as Adeniran nearly became National Chairman of the nearly dead but not buried People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The foregone makes it a day to look forward to!
