It has been handing over and taking over of command at the 6 Division, Nigerian Army following recent redeployment of senior military officers by the Headquarters, Nigerian Army. There, Major-Gen Olufemi Oluyede takes over as the new General Officer Commanding, (GOC) of the Division as well as the Land Component Commander, Operation Delta Safe from his predecessor, Major-Gen Sani Mohammed.
Highlights of the obviously meticulous January 17th, 2022 handing and taking over were the signing of the Handing and Taking Over Notes, decoration of the new GOC with the Division’s insignia, handing over of the Command Flag by the outgoing GOC to his successor and inspection of Quarter Guard.
Gen. Sani Mohammed, The departing GOC, applauded the commanders under him saying it was a pleasure working with them, urging officers to work harder and do their best in supporting the new GOC to ensure that the vision of the Division is achieved. Present at the event were Brigade commanders and senior officers of 6 Division affiliated formations and units.
Gen Olufemi Oluyede, the new GOC, on his part, thanked God for giving him the privilege to serve in 6 Division, soliciting the cooperation and commitment of commanders in the Division to enable him succeed in his new assignment.
