There are three items that recommend the verbatim publication of what should properly be an advertorial or may have been paid for as such otherwise. But Intervention is fascinated by the three elements therein as to take it as a news item without disfiguring it.
The first is the Dayo Duyile persona: He reported the opening of UNILAG in 1962, attained the status of an editor only to then attend the same UNILAG for a PhD at the age of 82. And he is to give the first of the Eminent Persons Series lecture at Elizade University on a compulsive topic “Journalism Yesterday and Today: Periscoping the Future”. It would be interesting to listen to Chief Duyile scatter temporal cosmologies that day as the topic is highly temporalized: yesterday, today, future. Wa oh!
The second element of novelty is the collaborative practice involving Elizade University and the South West Zone of the Association of Communication Scholars & Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN)
The third is the idea of an Eminent Persons Series, however the mastermind defines it. There is always something new from all such projects and which can be nurtured in an even greater direction.
Now, read the ‘advertorial’ in full:
