In case you are an Obasanjo basher, don’t carry that to Engineer Muhammed Abba-Gana, former Minister for the Federal Capital in the first term of the Obasanjo civilian presidency from 1999 to 2003. Engineer Gana is rather with Chief Obasanjo, using Obasanjo’s 85th birthday anniversary to write the former president a no holds barred letter of solidarity.
“Our dear former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR”, opens the letter which goes on to say:
This is to rejoice with you on your 85th birthday. After ruling the country for about 11 and half years; 3 and half years as military Head of State and 8 years as elected civilian President, you have made the most far reaching impact on the political, social and economic development of our country. To you, Nigeria’s unity is a supreme matter which is not negotiable. The present and longest democratic dispensation of more than 20 years in Nigeria is your legacy”
Not only is the civil engineer and an ideologue of the progressive parties in the Second Republic asserting the supremacy of Nigeria’s unity to Obasanjo, he is also saying that “The 8 years -1999-2007- of Obasanjo’s administration as President provided a solid foundation. “Accordingly, I and all the members of my family and well-wishers are praying to God, the Almighty and All-Knowing, the Creator and Sustainer of the universe, to give you many more years in good health so that you will continue to contribute to solidifying Nigeria’s unity in our great diversity. Amin”
