We announce our return to business forthwith. Publication was suspended when an intruder successfully got access and started posting rubbish about dating sites and the likes.
Much of the stuff did not get to most of our readers because we could delete from source but many of the materials percolated our twitter handle and other platforms.
We apologise to those whose sensibilities are most offended by such stuff but it gave us an opportunity to establish again that Intervention is highly appreciated. How do we know? We came to the conclusion by comparing the Facebook readership figures when we are actively publishing with when we are not. One is higher than the other and the period we are not publishing is ever higher than when we are actively publishing.
This is not new to us at all. Two years ago, we asked ten most trusted observers of the scene to tell us some of the things they think we ought to be doing. One of the points stressed by most of the respondents is that we publish intellectually (not academically) demanding stuff. We should allow time for people to be able to read them since we are not a newshawk as such.
We have tried to allow time in-between postings although, sometimes, people have sent stuff which have piled up and some of them have to be published at a go. At other times, events take place in a manner that needs urgent editorial responses.
In all cases, we shall continue to consult and improve on deliverables, including widening the gap between one posting and the other or between clusters. We thank all readers again for the break in transmission just experienced. We thank all those who take note and insist on the correction of our grammatical and spelling errors. We thank everyone, indeed!
We find it difficult that anybody will take pleasure in doing that. This is neither a commercial nor political venture but a provider of perspectives which hurts no one since there are millions of perspectives that we work on and push to readers to choose from. Nobody is compelled to accept a particular one!
