This is the great paradox. The crisis pushing some people to self-humiliating mediocrity and sycophancy is also what is pushing some other Nigerians to creativity as in this cartoon which offers more than a textbook can do about the current fuel scarcity in the country.
Unfortunately, in none of the WhatsApp platforms where Intervention sighted this was the name, artistic signature or institutional identity of the cartoonist indicated. It would have been a great pleasure to acknowledge him or her artistry.
It is not just that he depicted the extent of how biting the fuel crisis is as to drive big daddies to falling back on their children’ toys. That is, indeed, part of it. But even more important is the genius of criticizing or even being sycophantic in such a fascinating and imaginative manner! A great message from a cartoonist to a bewildered nation!
