The tie to June 12 is coincidental but significant. Her dad, the late Chris Abashi, a former president of the defunct National Association of Nigerian Students, (NANS) fought with all his strength together with others to ensure the realisation of the election. She was still a toddler then but education has transformed her into a potential wife, mother and powerful professional.
So, her wedding on June 12, 2021 is a cause for joy for not only the families involved but the larger constituency of radical activism in Nigeria. Her wedding will mean that all of the late Abashi’s three daughters are well educated and married. Known as Ashezi Abashi, this potential madame, the second of the twins is a graduate of Chemical Engineering. Her husband to be is her classmate at the Ahmadu Bello University, (ABU), Zaria. The process, Intervention is informed, starts with a sendoff tomorrow, June 5th, 2021.
It is not as if it should happen but students who can see beyond the manifest essence of their schooling to the point of achieving a life partner in the process have killed two birds with one stone in a manner very acceptable to society. That’s another lesson in this!
