Larry King, legendary American interviewer, conversationalist and television chat host, has succumbed to Covid-19 at the age of 87. A long time face of American electronic media space, King marked himself out by the suspenders over his shoulders.
Time magazine credits him with conducting an estimated 50,000 on-air interviews as well as presiding over a Middle East peace summit with the late Palestine Liberation Organisation, (PLO) Chairman, Yasser Arafat, King Hussein of Jordan and Israeli Prime Minister, Yitzhak Rabin in 1995. Added to welcoming what the magazine calls “everyone from the Dalai Lama to Elizabeth Taylor, from Mikhail Gorbachev to Barack Obama, Bill Gates to Lady Gaga”, he was effectively a television host who attained the rank of a global personality.
His progression from small radio stations to global reckoning on CNN makes him an American classic of grass to grace!
