Intervention has confirmed the authenticity of the video, (watch it below if you have the hearts to) of brutal flogging of a woman teacher about a week ago except that it did not take place in Niger Republic. Rather it is in the Republic of Chad.
The flogging team came from that country’s Political Police which doesn’t exist in Niger Republic, according to someone well informed on the matter. Many members of the Nigerian security establishment are aware of this deeply depressing flogging in the 21st century.
Chad is ruled by Idriss Deby. Interestingly, Deby is not just a local politician who made good. He has also been the Chairman of the African Union, the highest formal moral authority on the continent only three years ago. He in himself is a power broker, powerful in every sense of the word. He is tested in all manners of battle – political, ideological, diplomatic and military which is his training.
What remains to be confirmed is the name of the victim and whether she survived the ordeal and what any authorities, local, national and global might be doing about animalism in the 21st century. Two months ago, a local notable striped a woman naked and subjected her to torture and humiliation. That was somewhere in the Niger Delta area of Nigeria. The difference is that the notable is now behind bars or so the world has been told. The difference is that in Nigeria, such extreme barbarism still take place but the culprits are punished if ever it comes to the open.
That is the story the world is expecting from the Republic of Chad, starting with comprehensive medical and trauma rehabilitation for the Chadian sister first and the Day of Judgment. But, who will make it happen?
Africa has been offering the world its capacity for varieties of violence this week. In Somalia, some two convicts of rape had their male sex organ sliced off, carried out by the judge himself. But the video is too grissly to be posted here. May it still be well with our soul!
The original story on this very unforgivable brutality as scripted from social media graphics is retained in this update with the exception of the replacement of President Mahamadou Issoufou of Niger Republic with Idriss Derby of the Republic of Chad. The original story ran as follows:
Very few persons will be able to watch this beyond the first two seconds because it is simply soul destroying. But it has to be posted because it happened. This has been seen on no less than four different Whatsapp platforms catering for different groups as to rule out its fake news status. The actuality elements in the video are also quite prominent. It is possible it happened several years ago. If it didn’t but happened a few days ago as claimed by the accompanying note, then this is simply horrific and beyond comments!
The story is that a pupil complained to her minister of a father that this lady teacher insulted him. and that the next thing that happened was the arrival of the flogging squad to administer the jungle dosage.
May it be well with our souls! Watch the video if you can. We at Intervention are still hoping it didn’t happen at all.
