An essay competition and the associated prizes which would see Nigerian undergraduates in particular testing themselves on reasoned argument and writing skills, sought qualities in the world of work is open. The Kano based Centre for Information Technology and Development, (CITAD) has thrown open the essay competition for students, broadly speaking. There are two competitions in all.
Titled ‘Report a Project’, the first one is for a competitor to make a report on any abandoned project in one local community or another. This would need to be backed up with photographic evidence or demonstration of such a project. The report itself would be written on a form to be accessed and downloaded from the website, www.reportaproject.ng
The second competition is for undergraduates and students in institutions of higher learning to write what the organisers call an innovative piece on how to combat corruption. Judges will assess and select the best six. Then an online poll will be opened for public voting to select the best three.
After the submission, judges will assess and select the best six. Then an online poll will be opened for public voting to select the best three and there will be different categories of symbolic prizes.
